New versions of the C and Java RRP software development kits and some new
utilities are now available on the NSI Registry web site at:

    http://www.nsiregistry.com/opensrc/sdks.html

Here are the high points of what's included with this release:

We've fixed a few minor issues with the RRP client software. The
relnotes.txt file found within the distributions describes the fixes.

All of the "NSI Proprietary" notices have been removed and have been
replaced with GPL or LGPL notices as appropriate.

We've added a perl implementation of an RRP server stub for protocol syntax
checking outside of the NSI Registry environments. This stub only does
basic RRP command validation. It doesn't include SSL protection features,
extensive connection management features, a database, or any of the other
heavyweight features found in "live" RRP environments. However, it can be
very useful in early testing of client to help make sure that you've
    properly implemented RRP command structures.

We've added a perl script that uses a C program to decode X.509 certificates
and display information describing the issuer name, subject name, and
validity period. This can be a very useful tool to help a registrar keep
track of when their certificates expire. Run it from a cron job on a
regular basis and you'll never be surprised by an expired certificate.

We've also added a perl script that searches a zone file for domains being
served by a set of name servers. This can be very useful in managing lame
delegation of name servers. The NSI Registry offers access to several gTLD
zone files at no charge; see http://www.nsiregistry.com/Tld/gltdzpro.html
for details. Get a copy of the zone files, use this utility, and you'll see
how your name servers are being used.

These utilities are all available as open source software under the terms of
the GPL or LGPL. Questions or comments about these utilities or the NSI
Registry open source software development program should be directed to our
    open source mailing list. See
    http://www.nsiregistry.com/opensrc/mailing.html for details.
