Eric,
When ICANN asked us to enforce the 60-day no transfer rule at the Registry
level, we didn't (and still don't) have an RRP response code that 100%
mapped to this particular situation. We can't really change the RFC easily,
so in the near term we had to overload this particular error code. I
understand that the documentation doesn't address using this error code in
this situation, but it seems like the most reasonable compromise at the
time. We're looking at adding appropriate features to make this more
obvious.

Subject: [NSI-RRP] 60 day transfer error
Hi to all,
is there a way to tell that a registrar transfer has been rejected only(!)
because
of the initial 60 day period?
RRP currently returns
552 Domain status does not allow for operation
but the rfc says:
The status of the domain does not allow the requested operation. This
occurs when a registrar tries to modify or delete a domain that is
flagged as LOCK or HOLD in the registry.
The creation date isn't available via RRP because of 531 Authorization
failed.
(And registrar's whois can not automatically be parsed)
Any help would be appreciated
Best
